General Information
NON-APPROVED Vertical style mail boxes. Available in groups of 3 to 10 compartments each. Used to replace older/smaller size mail boxes with special permission.
6306A (shown in Aluminum)
The Alpha Communications /Florence 630 Series vertical mail boxes are designed to be used to replace the older, smaller (pre-1975) mail boxes, where there is not enough wall space to install the USPS approved 1250 series mail boxes. Use of the 630 series (NON APPROVED) mailboxes is strictly at the risk of the customer. The 630 series mail boxes are special-order only, and are not returnable if rejected by the Post Office. We strongly urge all customers that are thinking of installing the 630 series (NON APPROVED) mail boxes, to get written permission from their local Post Office, before proceeding. The 630 series boxes can be used in residential or commercial applications, requiring mail boxes that will be loaded from the front, and where mail will be removed from the front. Vertical mailboxes are usually used in small buildings, but can be used in almost any size building if wall space allows. Made of heavy-gauge aluminum, to meet or exceed postal regulations, these boxes are made to last long, and to look good. The 630 series mail boxes are available in sizes of 3 to 10 compartments in each mail box unit, but are not USPS approved. The middle compartment in each unit is the ‘master door’ and is provided with an opening and mounting bracket (and installation hardware) for the installation of the postal lock (provided by the local post office). Each mail box door features a nameplate and number tab slot and a 5-pin cam type lock provided with two (2) keys each, with 1,000 possible key change combinations. Each compartment door is 4.0″W (102mm) x 15.0″H (381mm), and each compartment is 4.0″D(102mm), for installation in standard 4.0″ deep walls. All 1630 series mail boxes can be installed in a single or double height configuration. The 630 series mail boxes are also available with built-in push-buttons installed into the bottom frame, for use with intercom or bell/buzzer systems. When the push-buttons are required, addthe letter ‘P’ in front of the model number (P630 series). The 630 series mail boxes are available in Natural Anodized aluminum (A) and Gold Anodized aluminum (G) finishes. Simply add the letter to the end of the mail box model number, to get the proper finish needed. For example, a 10 unit Gold anodized aluminum mail box would be called a model 63010G. For buildings with 15 or more mail recieving tenants, the Post Office requires that you install an alphabetical directory unit adjacent to these mail boxes. Also, when the mail boxes are installed behind a locked vestibule or entry door, the Post Office requires that you supply a key keeper, so the postal carrier can gain access to the mail boxes, without the need to be ‘buzzed in’ by a tenant. Contact us for more information on directories and key keepers, or check out the types available in this category section.
