Exit Switches are button or
touch-sense devices installed beside doors as an alternative, easier and
simpler mean of unlocking and exiting than regular key-turn based locks. Upon
pressure they simply disconnect an electric (usually electromagnetic) locking
device, such as Magnet Locks, thus instantly unlocking the door.
Exit Switches are designed
to provide a reliable means of egress in commercial and industrial facilities.
A vandal resistant model is available for abusive environments.
Choice of several different
push button styles and sign enable compatibility with different application
needs and code requirements.
Exit Switches are available
in a variety of mechanical and electrical configurations. The most common applications
are sustained bypass, momentary or timed unlock and alarm shunt. SDC exit
switches may be connected to the Request-to-Exit (REX) input of an access
control system or control the electric lock directly.
